The view from ground zero of the pandemic

Getty Images Special Correspondent John Moore flew from the bushfires of Australia to Europe for work, then to the first place COVID-19 made an obvious appearance in the U.S., Washington state. As the virus shifted and silently took root in and around New York City, John rode along with EMS workers for weeks, documenting its toll on the most vulnerable among us, immigrants without access to healthcare, the elderly, living in close quarters in care facilities, and the First Responders themselves.
